Wavy Free Motion Quilting with LOTS of Thread Changes – Interlocking Triangles
Sometimes you have a quilt where you want the fabric to be the star of the show.
That was the case with Interlocking Triangles. The fabric designs and colors are just so stunning that I designed an entire quilt pattern to show them off.
This course ONLY includes the quilting tutorial for this quilt. It is included as part of the pattern course at this link.
If I would have quilted the whole thing with one neutral thread to match the background, that would have taken away from the fabric, so there was only one choice … match the quilting thread to every single triangle in the quilt!
In this course I show in real time you how I quilted wavy lines into every triangle to mimic the look of the swirl fabric design. Then I turned the camera into time lapse mode so you could see how I constantly rolled back and forth to change threads so the texture would be consistent across the quilt, but the thread choice wouldn’t take away from the fabric design.
