Quilting Dense Wavy Lines and Swirls in a Star Block – Galactic

For the quilt Galactic, I wanted to quilt the 60-degree star in a different way than the background so that it would stand out.
I chose a wavy line radiating out from the center of the start to each diamond point. This is a super simple stitch that we cover in our Intro to Free Motion Quilting course and we show you the modification to be able to do what I did in this video. It creates a very dense center star and really makes the block pop.
This course ONLY includes the quilting tutorial for this quilt. It is included as part of the pattern course at this link.
Then I quilted a small swirl meander in the background. I chose a small, dense background filler so I could match the density of the wavy lines in the star and create consistent quilting throughout the quilt.
I love how the quilt turned out and looks super fancy with just two simple stitches.
