Meander Background Filler & Ruler Work – Flower Patch

We’ve got a free motion background filler, ruler work and thread changes! I’m a big believer that you shouldn’t rush to finish your quilts at the quilting stage. You spent all the time on the top, your quilting should bring it to life.

In the case of Flower Patch, I wanted to use ruler work to help define the blocks and change the direction to get the blocks to look more like leaves and petals.
Since ruler work isn’t exactly fast, I opted for a simple meander for the background filler to save time, but still create a custom look.
