Mariposa
The Mariposa quilt design came to me in the middle of the night when I was pregnant with my second daughter. I just couldn’t get the butterfly blocks out of my head.
NOTE: This pattern is only available in “Fat Quarter Workshop.” The book is available for 10% OFF through a link available in the supply list, which you will have access to after you enroll in the course. It will be shipped to you as soon as possible.
The quilt uses a tiny bit of paper piecing to create the butterfly bodies. Don’t panic if you’ve never paper pieced before, this is one of the simplest ways to use it out there and I walk you through it step-by-step in the course.
Then it is just some stitch and flip to create butterfly wings, some simple piecing and your fabric squares and rectangles have metamorphosed into a beautiful butterfly.
