Intro to Rulerwork

Welcome to our Intro to Rulerwork series! We are so excited about this course so we can help give you the confidence to finish your quilts yourself on your home sewing machine or longarm.
I love rulerwork because it makes me look like a much better quilter than I am. You just need to learn how to keep your ruler foot in contact with your special quilting ruler at all times and you can create beautiful, consistent shapes throughout your quilt.
NOTE: This course is being released over the course of May and June, on a biweekly basis.
In this 24-video course, we will cover creating straight lines, curves, circles, arches and waves using rulers. We’ll start simple and then show you how to customize the look of each design by using the ruler in different ways. Each segment will end with a show and tell to show you how I’ve used the rulers on real quilts to create stunning designs.
Each lesson will be demonstrated on both the longarm and domestic sewing machines, so you can take the course no matter what you are sewing on.
And unlike other courses where you end with a stack of samples you don’t know what to do with, we have created a pattern that you can practice each lesson within a block. So when you’re done you’ll have a finished quilt to show off and reference when you’re deciding how to quilt your next project.
We also have some bonus content where you can watch me quilt each block on the longarm in the full screen. There won’t be any commentary, so I suggest you watch this video first, and then go through the longarm only version if that is the machine you are working on to get a better idea of the ruler positioning.
Make sure you grab a ruler kit, which contains the five stencils we are using to learn the different techniques. And grab the quilt pattern, which is FREE with the purchase of the Quilting with Rulers 5-pack. You can find all the links you need in the Supply List.
We also created four reorderable quilt kits using solid fabrics from Moda Bella Solids. The richly colored fabrics are fabulous to work with, and it will make it very easy to see your stitches and make your stitching the star or the show.
The introduction content and straight line quilting segment are free to watch, but after that you will need to purchase the course to see the rest of the video content. If you purchase a ruler or quilt kit from us, we will send you a coupon code via email to get the entire course for free!
