Gridwork

Gridwork is seriously the easiest and fastest fat quarter-friendly quilt design we have ever done. I got this quilt done in two nights of work and a day of sewing. That’s it!

The large scale quilt design was inspired by my bathroom floor tile. Yes, you read that right. I have one of those pink and mauve 1950s bathrooms. I hate it, but I have been staring at the floor tile for 11 years thinking, this would make an awesome quilt. And now it officially has.

I changed the layout up a bit so that there would only be full, complete seams that can be sewn together to make up six sections in the quilt. That way there are no partial seams. I love how the design really allows you to show off your favorite prints in a big, bold way.

And the best part, you can make this quilt with just 12 fat quarters and a little bit of background fabric. So this quilt is budget friendly too.
